2019 RACE SCHEDULE

Registrations: 

Registration opens at 6:15am.....Early so we can make the most of the tide - (no entries will be taken on the day)

We will run a registration at the Kohimarama Yacht Club on Friday 8th March evening from 4:30pm to 7:00pm for any paddlers wishing to complete their registration and pick up their race packs before saturday. 

This is recommended for women as the women's race starts very early on Saturday due to the tides. 
Note: this is not an opportunity to enter. Entries close on Wednesday 6h March 

Can we ask for Men to hold back from rego on Saturday morning until we can get all the women registered. There will be plenty of time for men to register once the women are racing.  So blokes... please drop your Va'a off and go and have a coffee while the women get registered and sorted for their race. 

At Registration you will collect your entry pack that will include your race number (To go on front RIGHT of Canoe) & Race Shirt (The race shirt must be worn during the race) ​

2019 Race Program 

Please note: Race program may change dependent on Weather or entries.

Venue:  Kohimarama Beach. (Yacht club end)

V1 Registration: Kohimarama Yacht Club From 6:15am (no entries will be taken on the day)

7:10am  Race briefing for (V1 Short Course; junior women 6km, Junior Women 12km* and Women 12km*)

7:30am  Karakia 

7:45am  Race Start for (V1 Short Course,junior women 6km, Junior Women 12km* and Women 12km*)
9:20am  Race briefing (Short Course Men /Junior 6km, Short Course Men 12km,  Junior Men V1 12km* and Men 24km*)

9:45am   Race Start (Short Course Men/Junior 6km, Short Course Men 12km, Junior Men 12km* and Men 24km*)
Estimated finish 1:00pm followed by prizegiving at 1:30pm and the draw for Spot Prizes 
 *= Races that qualify for Air Tahiti Nui Ticket

Prizegiving awards ceremony for all categories will take place at the completion of the Mens race
Major Spot Prize is a FAI VA'A!!! you need to be present at prizegiving to win it! Please note: The FAI Va'a winner must  be from New Zealand)
Also other great  spot prizes to be won!

And don't forget 4 people WILL win a trip to Tahiti!!! Thanks to Air Tahiti Nui

  • Note Paddlers must be at least 16 years of age (Turning 16 in 2019) to be eligible to win the Junior 19 Men and Junior 19 Women Ticket to Tahiti. Va’a/Waka​

The organisors reserve the right to alter the course for safety at anytime
