SAFETY
All Va’a/Waka must complete the following safety check prior to racing:
There will be a Safety Check, Please see the Volunteers is Hi-Vis Vests to have your safety Check completed.
Your Safety Check Form - Once returned becomes your Spot Prize Draw Ticket! So make sure you hand it in!
All entries go in the Draw for Sport Prizes
All competitors must complete the Personal Waiver form prior to racing. All paddlers under the age of 18 must have their waiver form signed by a parent or guardian.
All Va’a/Waka must complete the following safety check prior to racing:
- Bailer: All Va'a carry an adequate bailer (Compulsory)
- Maritime Approved PFD (Compulsory)
- Spare Paddle (compulsory)
- Flair or Cellphone in a waterproof case (Compulsory)

- All paddlers must check in at registration before race briefing starts
- All Paddlers must wear the Official race shirt, that they will be given at registration.
- The start of the race will be a siren
- ·Drafting is allowed.
- ·Failure to comply with the directions of any Safety Official will result in immediate disqualification.
- ·Alcohol/Intoxication - any competitor found to be intoxicated or have heavy smelling alcohol on their breath will be asked to stand-down.
